GIRLS

Riverdale-74 vs Smyrna-59

The Riverdale Lady Warriors improved their record to a perfect (27-0) by defeating the Smyrna Lady Bulldogs 74-59 in the semifinals of the girls District 7-AAA Tournament game. Alexa Middleton, Tyisha Petty, and Tiffany Lewis lead the way for Riverdale. The trio combined for 46 of the Lady Warriors 74 points. Smyrna turned the basketball over 34 times during the ballgame. Riverdale advances to the championship game that will be played on Monday, February 18th at 7:30PM.

Riverdale: Alexa Middleton 11, Tyisha Petty 20, Tiffany Lewis 15

Smyrna: Brooklyn Blanchard 15, Kayla Hunt 13

 

Blackman-38 vs Oakland- 33

The Blackman Blaze girls overtook the Oakland Patriots by a score of 38 to 33 to advance in the D-7AAA Tournament.  Amanda Pollock was the Blackman Player of the Game with 8 points, including 2 critical 3 pointers, and Oakland's Player of the Game was Shelby Gibson with 12 points.  But it was turnovers that really won the game, as Oakland racked up 14 to Blackman's mere 6.


BOYS

Blackman- 69 vs Oakland-57

The Balckman Blaze pushed their win streak to 25 games straight on Saturday after defeating the Oakland Patriots 69-57 in the semifinals of the District 7AAA tournament. The Blaze, who are the states number one ranked team, shot an eye popping 57% from the field on Saturday. They also managed to outrebound Oakland 20-12 on the day. Oakland's George Stanberry scored a game high 26 points, but it wasn't enough to stop the Blaze's potent offensive attack. Vanderbilt Comittment Darius Thompson lead Blackman in scoring with 18 points. Blackman advances to the District 7AAA championship game that will be played Tuesday, February 19th at 7:30PM.

Blackman: Darius Thompson 18, Quindell Cousin 12, Alec McMiller 10

Oakland: George Stanberry 26, Emmanuel Smith 13, Kyle Oliver 10

 

Siegel- 66 vs Lavergne- 55

The Siegel boys hold off a late Lavergne surge to score a 66 to 55 victory in the D-7AAA Tournament.  The Lavergne Player of the Game was Charles Sutton with 16 points, and for Siegel, Ryan Jones, with an astounding 27 points.
