If you see someone wearing sunglasses at 1 in the morning, chances are good they’re up to no good. Add a beanie to the mix when the temps are in the 70's and you got double trouble. That was exactly the case in Murfreesboro when a man was approached by an unknown male wearing sunglasses in the parking lot of College Grove Apartments on Lascassas Pike Thursday morning. The victim said the subject approached him as he was walking to his car. The culprit who stood about 5’6” pulled out a gun and a second man standing at about 5’4” wearing a beanie quickly approached,  also armed with a gun. The victim said one gun was pointed at his head while he felt a second in his back.

The case gets more bizarre as a third man standing about 6-feet tall came up wearing a grey and red beanie. All three men (two with beanie's) teamed up to take the victims Atlanta Braves cap, empty wallet and iPhone. They fled the scene in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Several minutes later the suspects were pulled over and questioned by detectives. As it turns out, the men are from Smyrna and one of the guns in question was actually a BB gun. It was also discovered that four men were involved in the alleged hold up, not three. The fourth man was said to be the getaway driver. Police say the driver smelled like marijuana so they asked him if he had smoked weed in the recent past. His reply was YES, according to the report on file at the MPD.

By the way, the stolen Atlanta Braves hat was recovered from the Jeep which nicely tied the four suspects to the crime.
