Murfreesboro Fireworks HUGE SUCCESS!

Every space at McKnight Park on DeJarnette and Memorial was filled well before the City of Murfreesboro's Independence Day Fireworks Show began on Thursday evening. In fact, the pyrotechnics show didn't begin until shortly after 9:00 o'clock, so police could try to squeeze every vehicle into area parking lots.

Heavy rain persisted through the day and caused high water in area creeks and rivers. Even areas of McKnight Park had standing water.

A steady drizzle persisted during most of the fireworks display. It's common when there are periods of high humidity to have misty foggy conditions as well. (Above photo) The explosions cast eerie reflections in the shrouded sky.

Teamwork between the Parks and Recreation Department and Murfreesboro Police had the parking and traffic flow down to a science.
