Channel 4 News has uncovered new information about Sheriff's Deputy A.J. Ross, who has been the subject of public scrutiny after a video went viral on YouTube of a July 4th traffic stop. It was learned that Ross actually worked before at the sheriff's department, hired in 2002. But his file shows that then Sheriff Truman Jones accepted his resignation after Ross, according to his personnel file and uncovered by Channel 4, lied to Murfreesboro Police about having insurance after a fender bender accident. Up to three-million views and growing, video of the DUI checkpoint recording has also been the subject of thousands on social media. The sheriff's department will only say that Ross' actions are under investigation, while the MTSU student who recorded it says he doesn't plan to file a complaint.
