Business Education Partnership Foundation Chairman Emil Hassan announced that Amelia Bozeman has been chosen as the organization’s new executive director to replace outgoing leader Lee Rennick.
“We thank Lee for her dedicated service to the BEP and the years of executing the mission of collaboration between business and education for the benefit of our students. We welcome Amelia to the BEP, and we are confident that with her track record of community service and volunteer work, along with her strength in public relations, she will lead our organization to a higher level of achievement. We look forward to having the BEP continue and improve the very many programs that we do and start new ones in the coming years,” Hassan said.
Bozeman has provided public relations consulting for a variety of businesses, individuals and nonprofits. Additionally, she serves on
the executive boards of both Project Help and the Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital Ambassadors, the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring Advisory Board, and the Rutherford CABLE Board of Directors.
“I am thrilled and honored to have been chosen to lead the Business Education Partnership Foundation in its mission of providing Rutherford County students with the opportunity for robust, diverse, educational experiences through its programs, which promote innovation in education for guidance counselors, educators and students, allowing them to link their classroom experiences with real-world applications that will ultimately help prepare them for the workforce,” Bozeman said.
Through a partnership with the Nissan Foundation, the BEP offers mini-grants for teachers who reach beyond required curriculum standards and find innovative ways to help students grasp a concept and comprehend its relevance in their daily lives. Other BEP programs include the State Farm Summer Business Camp, the Counselor Leadership Institute, the Professor Buzzo Discovery Academy, the BC3 Academy, Youth Leadership Rutherford, Job Shadow Day, and the Express Yourself Arts Conference.
The Business Education Partnership (BEP) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization formed in 1988 with the help of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. The BEP states as its mission: “To foster interest in and to promote and support programs in public schools of the City of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County that will prepare students for the business world.”
