Country music star and songwriter Darryl Worley will host hit songwriters Mark Nesler, Jim “Moose” Brown and Walt Aldridge in Murfreesboro on Tuesday, July 30th, for the Darryl Worley and Friends Songwriters’ Event at Bumpus Harley-Davidson at 2250 N.W. Broad Street. The show will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The performance will benefit the Darryl Worley Foundation, which supports a variety of organizations, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center and the Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center.

Through six albums and 20 hit singles, Worley has produced one of the most impressive, wide-ranging catalogs in contemporary music. In addition to his success as a musician, Worley is known for his patriotism, support of U.S. troops and emphasis on helping others. When asked about this event, Worley said, “This is a night where we have a rare opportunity to hear the songwriters perform their hits and tell the stories behind them. All of us in the room get to feel like we're just sitting around with friends, laughing and enjoying some music. So many people give to make this evening a great one that’s all about helping others — from the songwriters to the Bumpus family to the auction donors to the guests.”

A native Texan, Nesler has worked with top Nashville recording artists for more than a decade. Many artists, such as Tim McGraw and George Strait, have benefited from Nesler’s songwriting talent. Recorded by Tim McGraw, Nesler’s song “Just to See You Smile” spent six weeks at No. 1. George Strait’s “Go On” and “Living And Living Well” both reached the No. 1 spot, as well. Nesler co-wrote Worley’s #1 hit single, “I Miss My Friend.” Aaron Tippin, Tracy Byrd, Keith Urban, Bucky Covington and Billy Currington have recorded Nesler’s songs, as well.

Brown is a Grammy award winner whose songs have been recorded by Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffett, Martina McBride, James Otto, Jamey Johnson, Worley, Terri Clark and Julie Roberts. Brown has played piano/keyboard on albums for Brad Paisley, Phil Vassar, Josh Turner, Trace Adkins, Worley, Darius Rucker, Shelton and Hank Williams, Jr. He also co-wrote the eight-week No. 1 “It's Five O'clock Somewhere” by Jackson and Buffett, as well as the Top 10 hit for Worley “If Something Should Happen.”

Aldridge, named one of the Top 10 Country Songwriters, has performed in the Nashville area for more than 30 years and has written more than 50 Top 40 songs. His song “No Getting Over Me” was named one of ASCAP’s most performed country songs, and “Holding Her and Loving You” was named Song of the Year by the Nashville Songwriters’ Association International. He has worked with artists including Lou Reed, Peter Cetera, Conway Twitty and Reba McEntire.

Guests at the Murfreesboro event will have an opportunity to purchase several valuable items at auction, including a Gibson guitar, casino package, Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam tickets, Jack Daniels signed barrel and day in Lynchburg packages and more unique items.

Tickets are $75 each, and Second-tier Tables for eight can be purchased for $900. A $1500 Golden Circle Table includes a private meet and greet and seating for eight people. For more information, contact Angie Bumpus at Bumpus Harley-Davidson of Murfreesboro at 615-849-8025.
