Rutherford County Fire Rescue was dispatched Tuesday to 182 Foxridge Drive (off of Highway 96) after neighbors noticed flames coming from the second floor of the home and called 911, said Fire Chief Larry Farley.

At the time of the fire, no one was at home, the chief said. Upon arrival of firefighters, flames were visible from the second story window.

“Volunteer firefighters made a quick interior attack on the fire,” Chief Farley said. “The fire was contained to one room on the second floor. The other rooms on the second floor sustained smoke damage.”

Firefighters checked for extensions to other parts of the second floor. The cause of the fire was possible a window air conditioning unit.

“The volunteer firefighters did an excellent job of attacking the fire before it had time to spread to other rooms on the second floor,” Chief Farley said.

Almaville Volunteer Fire Department was also on the scene. Also on the scene were Sheriff’s Deputies, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services and the Special Operations Response Team.
