Sep 18, 2013 at 04:15 pm

The Keathley University Center at MTSU reopened at 4 p.m. today after final checks of building and an investigation indicated an earlier report of a bomb threat was not credible.

There are no arrests at this time, but persons of interest were identified and have been questioned. The investigation is ongoing.

MTSU Police received a call at 1:12 p.m. from a staff member with concerns about a text she heard a student had received about a bomb in the Keathley University Center.

At 1:24 p.m., the building’s fire alarm was pulled by a public safety officer as a precaution to evacuate building.

The University sent out emergency alerts via text alerts, auto calls, social media and emails beginning around 2:10 p.m.

At 2:49 p.m., the university determined that threat was not credible and announced that KUC would likely reopen at 4 p.m. The campus was notified and the KUC was reopened on schedule.
