State to Open Bids for Broad Street / Old Fort Parkway Bridge in October

The Tennessee Department of Transportation has released the projects for which it will accept bids on next month.
The department plans to open bids on Oct. 18 for a total of 53 contracts, including 86 projects in 95 counties. TDOT will initiate resurfacing projects on several Tennessee interstate corridors and bids will also be received on a number of maintenance projects such as cable barrier repair, intersection improvements and bridge repair.

In Rutherford County, the biggest project includes the bridge over NW Broad Street connecting Memorial Blvd. to Old Fort Pkwy. According to the state of Tennessee, that bridge should be complete by year 2016. In other local projects, I-24 near State Route 840 will be resurfaced and some guardrails will be replaced.

  • The construction of a new interchange on S.R. 1 at S.R. 10 and S.R. 96 including bridge rehabilitation and construction of a welded steel plate girder bridge on S.R. 96 over S.R. 1
  • Project Length - 0.467 miles
  • Completion Time - On or before 5/30/2016 (See Special Provision 108B)
  • The DBE goal for this contract is 8%.
