Aug 31, 2011 at 12:11 pm by Unknown

The Rotary Club of Smyrna is joining the Middle Tennessee Chapter, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) in its efforts to collect retired cell phones for recycle. Each phone collected and recycled will equal approximately one hour of prepaid call time for a deployed uniform services member to connect with family and friends.

What To Recycle:  Cell phones, blackberries, palms, etc. AND their chargers, etc. (if you have it).

What Not To Recycle:  Chargers without the matching cell phones, old land-line phones, other electronic equipment. You can ask extended family, friends, co-workers, church members, etc. to donate their retired cell phones. Data is destroyed by the recycler during processing.  If you like, you may download a Data Eraser at www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com and erase your data before placing the cell phone in our collection box.
