Current WGNS producer and football sideline reporter Rafferty Cleary will receive a national honor this coming weekend in Chicago. He will join former Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett High School classmates Rusty Clark and Matt Peace at the Midwest Regional High School and College Radio Conference. Cleary and Clark received first place in the sportscasting / play-by-play category for the "Power Hour of Sports." Clark and Peace were received honorable mention for basketball play-by-play. Along with a special awards ceremony, Cleary will also attend several training sessions being put on by Columbia College in Chicago, host of the conference. Cleary, along with working at WGNS, is a sophomore at MTSU, majoring in broadcast journalism.
