A Murfreesboro man was killed in a motorycle accident in DeKalb County Wednesday (10/12/2011). The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that the deadly crash occurred as 41-year old William Ellis, Jr. was attempting to maneuver a curve on state highway 96. He evidently lost control and the bike went over an embankment and crashed into a tree.
According to WJLE radio in Smithville, two other motorcyclist were riding in front of Ellis and looked in their rearview mirror and noticed their friend was no longer there. They turned around and started looking for the Murfreesboro resident. They searched the area where they thought he was last seen, but found nothing and called 911. After a foot search by paramedics and DeKalb County deputies, Ellis' lifeless body was found. (note photo from WJLE)
