Wizards, and goblins, and hobbits, oh my! Dress as your favorite fantasy literature character and join Discovery Center in a fun, family-friendly Halloween event as we explore The Magic of Science and Stories!

Visit Frodo’s Shire or Narnia’s Wardrobe, cook up your own potent potion and fizzing formula, play a quidditch match on the patio, experiment with Mr. Bond the Science Guy and Middle Tennessee State University chemistry students, or explore our new Run! Jump! Fly! Adventures in Action exhibit! Plus, our annual costume contest!

This year’s Great Pumpkin Festival, sponsored by Toot’s, is Thursday, October 27th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Discovery Center will close from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm to prepare for this event.

Admission for non-members is $3.00 plus a non-perishable food item for the Rutherford County Emergency Food Bank. As always, this event is free for members.

The annual costume contest begins at 5:45pm. Pre-registration at the event and a $1.00 registration fee are required for all contestants. Winners receive US Savings Bonds provided by local banks.

Serving more than 133,000 people annually, the Discovery Center is a non-profit youth museum dedicated to inspiring exploration, enhancing learning, and building confidence through diverse programs and exhibits.

We are located at 502 SE Broad Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37130. Discovery Center is open Monday – Saturday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sunday from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM.  A nominal door fee is charged and annual memberships are available.
