The Murfreesboro Police detective arrested on Monday night in Smyrna has now resigned. Police spokesman Kyle Evans says the resignation was accepted early Wednesday morning. Boske is charged with domestic violence after a Monday incident at his Valencia Drive home. When Smyrna officers arrived, they saw Boske's ex-wife crying in the front yard. Blood reportedly was on her face and her left eye appeared to be swollen shut. They found Boske on the phone in the garage, but he told officers that he was exercising his right to remain silent, and would not answer questions about what happened. Barbara Boske told Smyrna officers that they had been arguing about his involvement with another woman when he allegedly hit her. Police noticed scratches on James Boske's face, and he reportedly said his ex-wife was defending herself. The 15-year police veteran was then taken into custody. He was later released on $2,500 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for November 29th. Boske was arrested back in 2008 on similar charged, which were expunged. This was done in accordance with the criminal justice system's diversion program. One of the conditions is that charges against first-time offenders may be cleared, if they complete a probationary period of time without further incidences.
