Murfreesboro Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran reports that crews are trying to complete jobs before winter sets-in. Here are potential problem areas for traffic from October 30th through November 5th. 

City Construction Projects

Maney Ave. Street Improvements (between SE Broad Street and College Street)

Expected Road Closures: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:00 PM: Road construction work continues along Maney Avenue between E Castle St and E Vine Street. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flagman. Access drives to the local residents and businesses will be kept open at all times.Motorists are advised to use Highland Ave and Academy Street travelling north/south and State Street and Main Street travelling east/west.

Lytle Creek Sewer Replacement Project (Woodmore Drive between Glaze Ct and Kirkwood Ave)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM: The contractor will begin laying sewer pipe on Woodmore Dr between Glaze Ct and Kirkwood Ave. This section of roadway will be reduced to one lane with flagman managing the traffic. Driveway access to local residents will be kept open at all times.

AT&T Fiber Optic Project (Intersection of E College St and N Church 

Expected Lane Closures: Monday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM: The contractor for AT&T will be installing milling and paving a short section of College Street at N. Church Street. There will be minor lane closuresand traffic interruptions.

Veterans Pkwy (New section between Barfield Road/Kimbro Road and Barfield Crescent Road)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM: The contractor will be installing storm drain across Barfield Road at the intersection of Kimbro Road. Clearing and grubbing work continues off the street between Barfield Road and Barfield Crescent Road. There will be lane closuresat the intersection of Barfield Road and Kimbro Road.The traffic on Barfield Road will be controlled by stop signs. There will be flagman during the day managing the traffic. Work continues, minor traffic interruptions.

MTSU Phase 3 Project (Intersection of Greenland Drive at Wiles Ct)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 2:00 PM: There will be lane closures on Greenland Drive at Wiles Court. The contractor will be setting up poles and traffic signals at the intersection.There will be traffic interruptions.

TDOT Re-Paving Project (Old Fort Pkwy between Cason Lane and NW Broad Street)

Expected LaneClosures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM: The contractor for TDOT will be installing final striping on Old Fort Pkwy between Cason Lane and NW Broad Street. There will be alternate lane closures and traffic interruptions.All work will be done at night.

TDOT Re-Paving Project (S Church Street between Indian Park Drive and Broad Street)

Expected LaneClosures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM: The contractor for TDOT will be installing final striping on S Church Street between Indian Park Drive and Broad Street. There will be alternate lane closures and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

Kingston Square Development (corner of Rutherford Blvd and Greenland Drive)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday - Friday, 9 AM to 2:00 PM: The contractor will be paving internal streets at the Kingston Square development. All paving will be onsite. There will be no lane closures or traffic interruptions on Rutherford Blvd

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM: Citymilling and paving crews will working on the following subdivisions: Expect lane shifts and traffic interruptions during these operations.
