Project Tango is back in the news again. Project Tango is a deal the city is working on to lure internet giant Amazon.com into Murfreesboro in hopes of creating over 1,000 new jobs. According to the Murfreesboro City Council agenda, Murfreesboro is requesting the lowest qualified bidder to lay new pipe and water lines along Joe B. Jackson Parkway to make way for Amazon to build on some 88-acres. This news in after the planning commission has already approved a 1-million square foot distribution center.
Murfreesboro has already worked out a tax abatement deal with the state of Tennessee for Amazon that would save the company approximately $15-million dollars in taxes.
