Special activities to honor local persons who have served our country are planned for the Veteran's Day activities on the Murfreesboro square at 11:00 o'clock Friday morning (11/11/2011).  

Longtime organizer Elsie Stem says, "Our veterans have done so much for our community, county and world that its an act of love for me to help put this together." Her husband Willie is a World War II Purple Heart recipient. 

In addition to the event being on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, this year brings the addition of being on the eleventh year. At that time, Murfreesboro skies are supposed to be partly sunny with temps around 60.
