A living legend in Murfreesboro, Dora Rucker was the guest on the WGNS' Action Line Friday morning (11/11/2011), and listeners called to share memories and wish her a happy 101st birthday.

Here is that radio broadcast, which is full of contagious laughter:

She was born here in 1910 and went to Sulphur Springs School, a one-room facility where students would gather wood and get the fire going on cold mornings. Family members say that Miss Dora is amazing, and is still able to do the soft shoe. Dora Rucker reminisces on WGNS about how it was in Murfreesboro 101 years ago.

Miss Dora is celebrating all day and will take-in the Blue Raider's opening basketball game against Austin Peay tonight (Friday, 11/11/2011) at Murphy Center. She is going to cheer on her great, great nephew Kerry Hammonds.
