Six businesses were evacuated in La Vergne Friday afternoon after a gas leak on Murfreesboro Road. The leak happened at the Webb-Pickard Insurance Company on Murfreesboro Road. After an employee smelled gas and Smyrna Gas was called, it was determined the area needed to be evacuated. It took several hours for the leak to be repaired and snarled traffic.
