On Thursday evening (May 31 at 5 p.m.,) Murfreesboro City Schools will unveil BOB the Book Bus outside Hobgood Elementary School. The innovative mobile library will roll through Murfreesboro neighborhoods weekly to help bring reading to life throughout the summer.
An out-of-service school bus has been re-purposed to house the mobile library. The air-conditioned bus includes thousands of books and seating as well as a video presentation lab for enrichment programs. This literacy initiative aims to help children discover a passion for reading and help prevent summer reading loss. The Book Bus is unlike any other mobile library in the area.
This mobile library was made possible by grants and book donations from students, staff members and the community.
