Rutherford County schools will have a new person in charge next school year. Harry Gill, Jr. said in a letter to the head of the school board chairman that he would not seek a contract extension. His term is set to end June 30th. The Rutherford County School Board was set to discuss an evaluation process for the superintendent at a meeting Tuesday night, but that was cancelled after Chairman Mark Byrnes reported receiving a letter from Gill. He receives just under 135-thousand dollars a year to run a system of 45-schools.
