Detectives believe that Willie David Jr. of Murfreesboro had been involved in an altercation with an individual. During that altercation a third person, later identified as Dejuanuta Stegall of 3258 Brick Church Pike Nashville, shot David Jr.

David Jr. Was transported to Vanderbilt by Lifeflight where he later died from his injuries.

The suspect ran from the scene and was taken into custody a short distance from the scene.
