For a third time a Murfreesboro man has been charged with DUI.

49-Year-old Mark Carter was arrested after a motor vehicle accident near South Rutherford Boulevard at the Circle K Convenience Store. The wreck occurred on July 10th.

Police say when they arrived Carter was witnessed to be behind the wheel of a green Chevrolet Camaro that was sideways in a ditch and against a utility pole.

The official report from the accident shows that Carter smelled of an intoxicant, had bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet when he got out of the Camaro.

A witness said that she observed Carter make a left-hand turn at a high rate of speed sliding off the road and hitting the utility pole. The passenger in the car then told authorities that the two were leaving the Campus Pub when the crash happened.

Carter was charged for the third time with DUI. He will appear in court on September 4, 2018.
