On June 8th of 2018, Murfreesboro First Responders from station #4 was dispatched to a situation where a young man was unconscious, not breathing and with little or no pulse. Immediately the team began to administer life-saving efforts to resuscitate the young man, which they did successfully and transported him to a local emergency room. Once stabilized the young man was told by medics and physicians that it was the efforts of these local heroes that saved his life.

In recognizing Captain Keith Bratcher, David Simms, Troy Gannon, and Dwayne O'Donnell as this months STARS Award recipients, Murfreesboro City Human Resource Director, Pam Russell stated that they were being awarded for "demonstrating exemplary service and representing the city in a positive light."
