Over 25-thousand dollars in renovations were completed at The Salvation Army of Rutherford and Cannon Counties as part of the Lowe's Heroes Project.
Twenty-five employees spent three days refurbishing the kitchen, dining room and male dormitory bathrooms earlier this month. Additionally, they gave the front lobby a fresh look with new paint and flooring and upgraded the outdoor playground equipment and fencing.
Last year, the local Salvation Army provided 11,784 night of lodging through their 50-bed life recovery homeless shelter and prepared and served over 40,000 meals though its daily community meal.
