The Bradyville area of neighboring Cannon County was believed to have had a tornado touch down on Monday (9/24/2018). Officials from The National Weather Service will investigate twisted trees, interview witnesses and access damage to determine whether the damage to several homes was the result of a tornado.
Neighbors united and helped residents with the beginning of a clean-up, our news partner, WBRY, reported that several homes were damaged by what may have been a tornado. At least four homes and a barn along Bradyville Road were damaged. Several trees were damaged, and some power lines were brought down by the wind.
Some of the part of the roofs are missing. EMA Director Roy Sullivan said the rescue squad was doing a good job of helping people get their roofs covered.
The storm came-up quickly, and the intensity was not expected until the high winds started to uproot trees and slam structures. As a result there were no tornado warnings issued by the National Weather Service.
