Local Non-Profit Received $25k State Farm Grant to Hire an On the Street Case Worker

State Farm Insurance reports that local non-profit Murfreesboro Cold Patrol has received a $25,000 grant from the State Farm Neighborhood Assist program.

Murfreesboro Cold Patrol was one of 40 organization in 19 states to win a $25,000 grant from State Farm. In fact, they are the only winning organization in TN.

The Cold Patrol was presented a check this past Sunday at a MurfreesboroLoves anniversary event on the local square. The grant money will be used to hire a case manager dedicated to working with the chronically homeless in the Murfreesboro area.

Amber Hampton with the Murfreesboro Cold Patrol wrote, "Our current outreach team is out on nights and weekends, but everyone has a full time job. This limits the impact we are able to have, specifically during working hours. Many of those we work with have disabling conditions that prevent them from holding full time employment. The wait for case managers to help with disability is often months. With a case manager on staff, we would be able to help fill out disability claims for those who are the most vulnerable in our community."
