(MURFREESBORO) All day Thursday (1/24/2019), a vacant ranch-style brick home on Singer Road was covered by teams of Tennessee National Guard members from the 45th Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team.

Lieutenant Colonel Bobby Rominger told NewsRadio WGNS about the services his team offers to all 95 counties in the Volunteer State . . .

The commander noted that the team is based in Smyrna, and that this drill was basically for their own training, however--Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency helped the guard with the day-long exercise.

In most situations, the drill is to train local emergency responders. How do you set those up . . .

In mid-February the Tennessee National Guard's support team celebrates 16th year of helping local law enforcement, fire and medical responders. Tell us about an actual case in which your team helped . . .

From the large trucks that surrounded the Singer Road home, it was obvious that the Tennessee National Guard team was loaded with technology . . .

Again, that was Lieutenant Colonel Bobby Rominger. So if on Thursday, you were driving out Florence Road and saw a hillside home filled with soldiers and satellite technology vehicles--it was only a drill. The Tennessee National Guard's Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team was completing a training exercise. And to borrow a National Guard slogan from the 1960's: "Sleep well tonight, the National Guard is watching over you."
