Good news for a family in Woodbury. A man who owns a restaurant there and has been in America for 22 years is no longer facing deportation.

Shanqun Zhao from China has been held in detention for six months and away from his family. Zhao and his family operate China Star Restaurant.

Zhao was placed into detention after his wife applied for a green card receiving approval while Zhao was denied.

The Woodbury community that dines at the family establishment grew outraged and wrote letters to congressman and more. Finally in late January, Zhao was allowed to return to his home in Woodbury and is now back with his wife and children.

Now, Zhao has to check in with Immigration Authorities monthly.
