Multiple Oakland High School students tested in December and qualified to advance to the 2nd round of the regional competition for the Oakland HOSA - Future Health Professionals.
HOSA stands for "Health Occupations Students of America."
HOSA is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education (HSE) Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.

Oakland High School Cosmetology students SYLVIA GERHART and ALAYA TIBBS (below) competed in the SKILLS USA competition last week. Alaya Tibbs won second place in the Cosmetology competition. They will now compete on the state level in April in Chattanooga.
