For nearly 40 years the America's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network has helped aspiring and emerging small business owners achieve the American dream of entrepreneurship. This March, SBDCs from around the country are coming together for one special day to celebrate their work, impact and most importantly their clients - America's small businesses.

To celebrate the collective impact and success Small Business Development Center's have in local communities each year, Small Business Development Centers are hosting the third annual Small Business Development Center Day on March 20th. The day is part of a national movement to help share the small business success stories and notable impact such centers have fostered in communities nationwide.

On March 20th at MTSU, the small business organization will be honoring the chosen 2018 Rising Star Award Winner, Dr. Zac Ditmarsen of Aspiring Health Clinic and Chiropractic. The celebration and presentation will begin at 1 pm at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. Other events for the day include an open house, a presentation by the Small Business Administration, and a seminar on FREE small business resources.

Small Business Development Centers provide local businesses and entrepreneurs with the resources needed to succeed. In 2017, development center clients experienced annual sales growth of 18.1% which is almost 4.5 times more than the national average. The organizations assistance resulted in 93,471 jobs created; $7 billion in sales growth; $5.9 billion in capital investments; and 14,716 new businesses started.
