BALD IN THE BORO Successful and Fun!

Murfreesboro Medical Clinic again sponsored the 9th annual BALD IN THE BORO event Friday (3/15/2019) night at Lanes, Trains and Automobiles in Murfreesboro. Emotional stories of love were shared, a city councilman was shaved and a young child who had always seen his grandfather with long grey hair and a full Santa beard, suddenly got the "skin" look.

Bald in the Boro is a community wide event involving a head-shaving tradition, buzzing heads bald in exchange for donations to the St. Baldrick's Foundation to raise money for childhood cancer research.

Tracy Tucker, owner of the Beehive Hair Salon in Murfreesboro has cut hair at the event every year. She describes what it is like for participants to get their head shaved...



Dr. Jeremy Harrison, a Pediatrician at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, came up with the idea of hosting "Bald in the Boro" annually...

The St. Baldrick's Foundation reports more children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease. Before they turn 20, about one in 300 boys and one in 333 girls will have cancer.
