A 45 year old woman in Murfreesboro thought she met the love of her life... in the Philippines. The victim told police that over the past year she has sent the subject known as "Alex Harrison" $12,000. The money was sent in hopes of the man coming to Murfreesboro to be with the victim.

Over the past 12 months the man has given excuse after excuse as to why he can't make the trip or why he can't pay the victim back.

The victim told authorities she first met the man on FaceBook in May of 2018. She said that she sent him money through Western Union so that he could make travel plans to Tennessee.

When the man asked the victim for another $24,500 - she called the police. Officers told her to stop sending the man money.

As for the true identity of the man, it is not known and an arrest is unlikely.

The case of swindling will likely remain open as an arrest is quite unlikely.
