A special event was held at a state park on Highway 231 that is utilized by many in both Rutherford and Wilson Counties this past weekend.

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) held a ribbon-cutting on Saturday (May 11, 2019) for the opening of the Sadie Ford Heritage Farm & Art Center at Cedars of Lebanon State Park.

The property is being restored and incorporated into the park.

Cedars of Lebanon State Park is part of the Cedars of Lebanon State Forest. The park is named for eastern red cedar trees found throughout the area. The trees reminded early American settlers of the Biblical cedar forests that thrived across Mount Lebanon.
