A subject by the name of Larry Dale Pitts was charged with attempted first degree murder in Rutherford County. The 57 year old man allegedly threatened to kill his next door neighbor and reportedly took the threat a step further by firing a single shot into his neighbors leg.

Evidently, the incident started with an argument on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. The argument was reported to have ended and then restarted later in the day. It was during that second argument that Pitts reportedly grabbed his gun and allegedly shot his neighbor in the leg.

The victim, who was not critically injured, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of the gunshot wound.
