Imagine going into a non-profit to eat a free meal because you were already struggling and then coming back out to discover that someone stole your beloved puppy... That is the situation that left one Murfreesboro man beside himself with sadness.

The new black lab was stolen when the homeless victim went inside The Journey Home on West Castle Street to eat lunch. The man left the dog tied to a post next to its food and water. When the man returned to his animal, it was gone.

The Pet Adoption and Welfare Service office in Murfreesboro has been notified of the theft, but so far no suspect has been named.
