(MURFREESBORO) Several local residents are concerned about what type of industry plans to locate near the Cason Lane Trailhead. The Board of Zoning Appeals has approved the final reading, and it now goes before the City Council.

Councilmember Eddie Smotherman, who also serves on the BZA, did not divulge the business saying he did not want to "take away their thunder". However, he noted that it would bring around 150 jobs to the city.

And with the council, they have a special lunch work session this coming Wednesday (8/14/2019) from 11:30 to 1:30PM at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, 3050 Medical Center Parkway.

That special session includes staff interviews about: (1) An overview of Fiscal Year 2020 Capital Improvement Projects, (2) Consider Resolution for application for State Industrial Access Grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for Warrior Drive extension, and (3) Amendment of City Code pertaining to Electrical Contractor Licensing Laws and Regulation.

By the way, Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland will be on WGNS this Wednesday morning from 8:10 to 9:00AM.
