Heat + Humidity = Life Threatening

You can be certain there will be more hot and humid days before summer gives way to fall.

In fact, heat index readings today (Wednesday) are expected to be around 100-degrees here in Rutherford County.

If we asked you - do you know what the number one weather-related killer in the U.S. is - could you answer correctly? Here's a hint. It's heat. In the last two years, there have been nearly 110 heat related deaths in the country.

With the start of high school football this week, families trying to cram in more time together before the weather cools and any other excuse to get outdoors, remember to pay attention to the heat. Always drink a lot of water and if you don't feel well, find a cool spot.
