A National Weather Service storm survey team confirms a tornado hit Rutherford County Tuesday. Warning Coordination Meteorologist Tom Johnstone says the E-F-Zero twister began about four-miles northeast of Smyrna on Lamar Road at the access area to Percy Priest Lake. Damage to a few roofs, a mobile home, a recreational vehicle and trees was reported. The tornado had winds of 80-to-85 miles per hour and was on the ground for just over a mile and a half.
