Former Vice President Al Gore visits MTSU for Monday, Sept. 16, public forum

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore will return to the MTSU campus Monday, Sept. 16, for a discussion of his father's political legacy in Tennessee and the U.S. Congress. The event will feature a "LIVE" conversation between the Former Vice President and Professor Anthony Badger, as part of the Strickland Visiting Scholar Program.

The Nobel Peace Prize-winner and former MTSU professor will join Dr. Anthony "Tony" Badger, author of the new biography "Albert Gore Sr.: A Political Life," for a forum titled "Albert Gore Sr.: Voting Rights, Civil Rights and Public Policy"

MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee will formally welcome Vice President Gore to campus at 2 p.m. at the James E. Walker Library, 1611 Alumni Drive. Gore will also be viewing an exhibit there chronicling his late father's political career.

The speaking engagement will be inside the Tucker Theatre on Monday afternoon at 3:00 (Sept. 16, 2019).
