Race for Murfreesboro City Council Crowded

The race for Murfreesboro City Council is crowded. Currently, three seats are up for grabs and three incumbents have chosen to run again. The seats that are up for re-election are the ones held by Vice Mayor Chris Bratcher, Councilman Toby Gilley and Councilman Ron Washington. All three have qualified to run again. Also running in the election for city council are Danny Brandon, Bill Jakes, Austin Maxwell, Connor Moss, Eddie L. Smotherman and Ricky R. Turner.

The election is on April the 17th. Early voting will take place March 28th – April 12th.

Background:

Chris Bratcher is a real estate agent for Red Realty. Bratcher is 53.

Toby Gilley is an attorney and is 41-years of age.

Ron Washington works for Middle Tennessee Electric and is 53.

Danny Brandon is 45 and owns a tax preparation business in Manchester.

Bill Jakes is a realtor with Exit Realty, Bob Lamb and Associates and is 45.

Connor Moss is 23. He is a Docent at Oakland’s Historic House Museum.

Eddie Smotherman owns Gem in the Box Jewelry Shoppe and is 53-years of age.

Ricky Turner, 44, owns the Cedar Bucket Cafeteria in Murfreesboro.

The election is on April the 17th. Early voting will take place March 28th – April 12th.
