MURFREESBORO, TN. Dozens of military veterans enjoyed free discovery flights at Murfreesboro Aviation on Veterans Day, this past Monday, November 11. As a veteran-owned company, Murfreesboro Aviation was proud to have provided these discovery flights. Joining the celebration of America's finest, was Senate candidate and Vanderbilt Trauma Surgeon Dr. Manny Sethi. Dr. Sethi met and talked with several veterans and toured the Murfreesboro Aviation flight school, offices and maintenance facility.
"Honoring my fellow veterans was an honor for me and the staff here at Murfreesboro Aviation. The brotherhood of serving in the military is a bond that lasts a lifetime and it was great to see so many families come with their veterans--young and old-- to our free discovery flight day. We're grateful to all that served and look forward to making this an annual event," stated Jim Gardner, Murfreesboro Aviation owner and Desert Shield/Desert Storm, US Army Veteran.
Over 100 veteran discovery flights took place on Monday. Participants and pilots flew over the local area and were given introductory information on aviation, airplane construction and controls as well as getting to visit areas they recognized but had never seen from 1500 feet above the ground.
