Perhaps you have heard reports on social media about a man going door to door with an assault rifle in Murfreesboro. Well, there is truth to the thread that has spread like wildfire.

Murfreesboro Police Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told WGNS, "MPD did receive a few calls about this man after seeing the post on Social Media. The man with the gun was taking it to an acquaintance and apparently knocked on the wrong door."

While it has raised some eyebrows, the police department told us that they were aware of the incident and all has been looked into.

Again, the subject seen on social media knocking on a door in the South Church Street area was at the wrong house, according to authorities. Police confirmed that the subject was taking the gun to an acquaintance, but knocked on the wrong door.
