(MURFREESBORO) The Boro Art Crawl took place Friday night (12/13/2019), and one of the stops was the Rotunda of the Mrfreesboro City Hall. In fact, there was a reception at that location for the outstanding works of Kristi Baughman's fabric art and Heloise Shilstat's blending of brushed colorings with paper mosaics.

Kristi Baughman combines painterly qualities with her first creative love, quilting. Her current work is inspired by her everyday environment. Instead of paint, she expresses her perception of sight and experience in bits of batik fabric and stitched threads. Her works are a delightful display of color, form and texture.

Heloise Shilstat offers multi-faceted works of art, Paper Mosaics, are constructed from cut or torn pieces of glossy magazine pages, resulting in the look of beautifully detailed stained glass. Each piece is intricately placed giving her designs a whimsical yet deeply textured feel.

All exhibits in the Rotunda are free and open to the public for viewing between 8:00AM and 4:30PM weekdays, except holidays. The Rotunda Gallery of City Hall is located at 111 West Vine Street. This show is through January 3, 2020.
In fact, while you're visiting this art show in the rotunda, stroll the grassy knoll in front of City Hall and the Linebaugh Library. It's decked out for the holidays, and especially beautiful with the moving light display during evening hours.
