The United Way tax preparation program is making an impact in Rutherford and Cannon Counties. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program runs until April 15th.

Urban's count of "money saved" comes from residents who are able to save their dollars by not paying someone to prepare taxes. His figure also comes from the money that is returned to tax filers.
