Rural areas around Rutherford County:

Some of the more rural communities around Murfreesboro are starting to feel the strain of the coronavirus. Most recently, Manchester, Tennessee reported their first confirmed case this past Saturday. The patient in Coffee County tested positive at Unity Medical Center.

Unity reported, "The protocols in place allowed Unity staff to test the patient in an outside structure without entering the facility. After speaking with the provider, it is reported that the patient is self-isolating at home and reports that they are doing well. Unity Medical Center will continue following precautions to ensure the safety of our patients, colleagues and visitors."

In the Woodbury area, Cannon County Executive Brent Bush wrote, "We have been notified by the TN Department of Health that a resident of Cannon County has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The patient has been placed in quarantine and is recovering at home. This is not unexpected." Since the release from the Cannon County Executive this past week, we have confirmed that a second case of coronavirus has been confirmed in the Woodbury area.

Nearby Bedford County has one case at this point while DeKalb County has three cases.
