The Rutherford County Board of Education will enact precautions to ensure social distancing during its special-called meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 2.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. and the agenda includes items related to the COVID-19 shutdown.
As part of the precautions, Board members will be seated apart from each other. Staff members will follow the same precautions.
The board will recommend approval with a solid motion to approve and adopt policies as emergency policies, waiving the requirement of a second reading pursuant to Board Policy 1.600. The policies shall be effective immediately.
NOTE: While the meeting is open to the public, those who want to observe the meeting are encouraged to do so remotely by watching the meeting on YouTube, on the RCTV website or via Comcast Channel 19. A link to the YouTube live video will be posted on the district's Twitter and Facebook pages when the meeting begins.
