The latest COVID-19 numbers released by the Tennessee Department of Health Wednesday also revealed Rutherford County's first death.

There is no further information on the person who passed away due to coronavirus.

With 86 positive cases reported in the county as of Wednesday, the number is steadily rising here and across the country. Those numbers, according to state and federal health officials, will continue to rise over the next several weeks.
