Residents who call the Sheriff's Office during an emergency will be answered by a telecommunicator who is trained to calm the caller while also questioning the caller about the type of emergency.

During the conversation, other telecommunicators will send Sheriff's deputies to help.

These telecommunicators are the first voice you hear when you make that emergency call and will provide the services you need. They are on the front lines every minute of everyday of every year. This includes holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving.

The Sheriff's Office honors all dispatchers / telecommunicators who accept those emergency calls, comfort callers and reassure victims that help is on the way. This is a big thank you, not just during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, but every minute, everyday, every month and every year.
