The football and softball coaches at La Vergne High School have resigned. Football coach Stanton Stevens and softball coach Brenda Morris are stepping down after 37-years combined at the school.
Stevens is leaving to become an athletic director in North Carolina. He's been the head football coach for the Wolverines since 2010, leading his teams to the playoffs three times. His overall record was 35-69.
The school tweeted "we are sad to see Coach Stevens move on, but we are excited for him as he takes on this new adventure! You will be missed Coach!"
Morris has had 32 players and two managers go on to compete at the collegiate level. She will remain on faculty at the school.
The school tweeted "Thank you Coach Morris for your years of dedication and service! You will have a lasting impact on the softball program at LHS!"
